The Grand Opening of the 3,000-year-old Road of the Sphinx Avenue
On November 25th 2021, the world witnessed the greatness of the ancient Egyptian civilization in Luxor, through the opening of the largest open museum in the world, with a legendary celebration presided over by The President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his wife, with the presence of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr. Khaled El-Enany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and ambassadors of the countries of the world in Cairo.
All the ancient Egyptian poems used in the ceremony are taken from chants and hymns already written on the walls of ancient Egyptian temples, which are closely related to the Opet Festival, the most famous holiday in ancient Egypt.
Visitors can enjoy and tour the Sphinx Avenue through tickets for their visit to Luxor Temple or Karnak Temples. With tickets to enter Luxor Temple, they can visit part of this avenue, and they can complete the visit to the other part of the road with tickets to enter Karnak temples, for which there are ticket counters in front of the Egyptian Public Library, without any price increase.
